在慾望城市(Sex and the City)下檔之後,看了號稱已婚版慾望城市的慾望師奶(應該是香港翻的, Desperate Housewives),雖然沒有慾望城市火辣,但至少還蠻有趣的.可是同事一直跟我推薦實習醫生(Grey's Anatomy),說GA比DH好看多了.上網抓了三季,遲遲都沒有看(太多港劇在排隊).後來看了一集之後就停不下來了.
摘錄一些我最愛的對白
101 A Hard Day's Night
"....Me on the other hand, I’m kinda screwed."
DR. RICHARD WEBBER: Each of you comes today hopeful, wanting in on the game. A month ago you were in med school being taught by doctors. Today, you are the doctors.
DR. BAILEY: I have 5 rules. Memorize them. Rule number 1. Don’t bother sucking up. I already hate you, that’s not gonna change.
DR. BAILEY: You answer every page at a run. A run! That’s rule number 2. Your first shift starts now and lasts 48 hours.
DR. BAILEY: Your interns, grunts, nobodies, bottom of the surgical food chain. You run labs, write orders, work every second night until you drop and don’t complain.
DR. BAILEY: On call rooms. Attendings hog them. Sleep when you can, where you can. Which brings me to rule number 3. If I’m sleeping, don’t wake me unless your patient is actually dying. Rule number 4. The dying patient better not be dead when I get there. Not only will you have killed someone, you would have woke me for no good reason. We clear?
DR. BAILEY: Rule number five. When I move, you move.
GEORGE: The Nazi’s a resident. I have attendings hating me.
CRISTINA: Where’d you go to med school, Mexico?
DR. SHEPARD: What never happened? You sleeping with me last night? Or you throwing me out this morning.
KATIE: I had to go all exorcist to get her to even pick up the phone
KATIE: But I can’t sleep. My head’s all full.
MEREDITH: That’s call thinking. Go with it.
裡面我最喜歡 Dr.Bailey (人稱'納粹')講的話,她講話直接到讓人抓狂,可是又都是重點,尤其是他的口氣加上他的表情實在是一絕.
醫生是個很受人尊重的職業,不管在哪個國家唸醫應該都不輕鬆,在美國尤其是.四年醫學院,前兩年唸書唸到死,後兩年幫人家跑腿跑到腿斷,還不用說四年的學費高達二十萬美金,後兩年根本是付錢幫人家工作.好不容易畢了業還要當實習醫生一年跟住院醫生(看哪一科)不知道多少年,至少三年.在這四年他們領少少的薪水,每個星期工作超過80小時,有時候甚至更多,有時候每隔一天就要 on-call,一個 shift 從36小時起跳.而 intern 是最慘的,就像 Dr.Bailey 說的,intern 是食物鏈的最底層,換句話說他們什麼都不是,每個人可以把他們採在腳底下,甚至護士都比他們臭屁. 還真符合孟子說的"天將降大任於斯人也,必先苦其心志,勞其筋骨".
苦其心志--把他們的自尊完全摧毀,那些醫生們從小就很優秀,被大家捧在掌心,一旦當了 intern, 就變成人人可以使喚的對象.
勞其筋骨--這就很明顯了,日日夜夜的操,操到他們自己放棄,唯有體力跟耐力可以堅持到底的人才能成為醫生
雖然很苦,很不人道,但是熬過來捧的就是金飯碗,當然,要考到執照才算!
